My hometown, Weston, Florida is a city in Broward County. Established as a city in 1996, the city was developed by Arvida (the same folks that developed Disney World). It sits on the westernmost border of the county and is surrounded on the west and north by the Everglades. Money magazine ranked Weston as the 19th "Biggest Earners" in 2010, with a median family income of about $120,000. Weston is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the US. All of the public schools in Weston are "A" rated. Weston has become one of the biggest-selling planned communities in the nation. Business districts formed in prime locations and leading Fortune 500 companies such as American Express now call Weston home. The combination of major industry with small businesses and shops, gives residents and visitors a "hometown" feel. Arts festivals, concerts and celebrity golf tournaments bring residents and visitors alike together on weekends. There is also the Weston Hills Country Club situated in the heart of the Weston Hills community. As a premier country club, Weston Hills offers two 18-hole championship golf courses.
